The CUSS Running Guide to Chicago’s Running Groups (2026 Edition) Because everyone belongs on the trails (and streets, and lakefront paths)

Hey there, fellow pavement pounders and trail trailblazers! Welcome to our freshly updated 2026 guide to Chicago run clubs, because this city has more running groups than excuses I’ve heard for skipping a 6 AM run, and somehow the scene just keeps growing.

Whether you’re hunting for your first Chicago run club or you’ve been at this a while and just want to shake things up, I’ve got you covered. Chicago’s running community has shifted hard toward inclusivity, neighborhood-based scheduling, and hybrid in-person-plus-app coordination over the past year, making 2026 the most accessible time ever to find your people.

Found your crew? Amazing. Are you chasing a specific goal like your first ultra, first marathon, or just want someone in your corner who’ll actually laugh with you at mile 20? That’s kind of our other thing. Meet Ally, your future running coach →

Use Chicago Running Passport (@chicagorunningpassport) on Instagram and platforms like SweatPals, Pie, or Eventbrite to track current meetup times — schedules shift seasonally, so always confirm before you show up.
