Stop #10: Beautiful Day Run Club

Beautiful Day Run Club
Stop number ten of this mission took me to Beautiful Day Run Club last night, and I have to say, they really, really live up to their name. Beautiful Day is just super positive. It was a very, very positive run club from start to finish.
Here’s how it goes. You show up to a group of about 30 people. The captains lead you through a warmup, which I loved, and then they run through announcements, plus a bunch of social opportunities outside of the running itself, coffee, hanging out, whatever you’re into. Then they send you off by pace on an out and back along the 606, so you actually see everybody, coming and going, the whole run. They offer four and six mile options.
There were three captains out that night. One stayed up with the front of the group the whole time, just infectious positivity, genuinely amazing energy. I cut out a little early since it was my third run of the day, but on my way back I passed the other two captains sticking with the folks at the back of the pack, making sure no one got left behind. Brilliant.
Beautiful Day Run Club has amazing, amazing personality. I would say it is great for new runners, great for people looking to get faster, there were definitely some speedy people in this group you could pace off of, and great for anyone looking to build a social life outside of running. They foster that kind of community on purpose, and it shows.
Beautiful Day Run Club, amazing. Go check them out.
